Life on 35mm Film

I’ve been shooting TONS of film lately. It's been incredibly eye opening learning how to shoot, develop, and print my work in these past several weeks, and it's made me realize that gear specs or lightning fast shutter speeds aren't necessary at all to make good photographs. It's easy to get caught up in a camera's capabilities, or constantly crave new lenses when you're immersed in the photography world 24/7. But from personal experience having used the same camera body and lenses for a couple years, I find it a thousand times more fulfilling to grow naturally as an artist, rather than through an unnecessary new camera or new lens.
I've definitely made some mistakes in the beginning, which is why one of my favorite things about shooting film is how rewarding it is! The feeling I get after developing several rolls of film at once is exhilarating to say the least. Not knowing what my photos look like until I've developed and printed them is so exciting! I can't wait to see how my recent and future shoots will turn out.

For the photographers out there: I shot all of these with the Pentax K1000, Ilford HP5 Plus 35mm film. Developed myself.
