– Neon/fluorescent colors
– Bold patterns and large logos/prints
(These items distract from the location and can create unflattering tones during the photo editing process.)
– Neutral colors! Colors like maroon, sage green, denim, black, white, etc. photograph really well! Always a safe choice if you’re not sure what tones to go for.
– For families: wear colors that complement each other! (Ex. choose 2-3 colors for everyone to wear rather than everyone wearing a single color.)
It’s no one else’s session but yours! I always tell my clients to freely express themselves. It’s all about feeling comfortable and like yourself!
This shoot is all about celebrating you, so don’t be afraid to go all out! (Do you play sports? Bring your uniform!)
My senior package includes up to 2 outfits, so definitely utilize this to express who you are with more than one look! Most seniors bring 1 casual + 1 formal-ish outfit.
The idea is to wear complementary colors, and/or mix & match patterns with solids (ex. 1 pattern for every 2 solids).
As important as it is to consider tones and textures when choosing what your family will wear, definitely consider clothing that fits well and is comfortable. Your kiddos will thank you! Especially during those fun candid moments you’ll want documented.
What vibe are you going for? Is it a formal engagement shoot in the city? Or a more down-to-earth session in nature? Coordinating the look and feel of your location with your outfits is key!
In the end, the shoot is yours! Oftentimes we know ourselves better than anyone, so wear what makes you feel most comfortable and most like you 📷
