VROCC Día de los Muertos Festival

Last weekend I had the chance to attend the Día de los Muertos festival in East Boston by the incredible @vroccboston.

It’s hard to describe what it’s like to be physically separated from your roots. Living in New England, let alone having the schedule of a college student, makes it even harder to find meaningful connections to Mexico. It can seem like you’re the only person feeling this type of homesickness. But luckily the Veronica Robles Cultural Center makes it easy to access a piece of home, however small ♥️

I only planned on photographing the festival for an hour or two but ended up staying till the very end. It’s not often that I feel so at home among strangers. That says a lot about @veronicaroblesmariachi’s mission to bring people together regardless of their background. Her dedication to celebrating life inspires me endlessly, and I’m always looking forward to her next big thing 💚
